What is coconut oil made out of? Why is coconut oil so good for us to use?
Believe it or not more than three fourths of coconut oil is made up of a combination of some different fats. Saturated fats to be exact and this may sound really bad but it is not that bad and there is no difference with virgin coconut oil either. A basic breakdown of what makes up your average coconut oil is mentioned below.
There are six different saturated fats in coconut oil as well as one polyunsaturated fat and one monounsaturated fat as well as other acids, other ingredients and even some vitamins and minerals. The six saturated fat acids are caprylic acid, palmitic acid, myristic acid, capric acid, lauric acid and what is known as medium chain triglycerides. The one polyunsaturated fat is linoleic acid and the one monounsaturated fat is oleic acid.
The other ingredients are a gallic acid and a phenolic acid which is what helps to create the scent and the flavor of the coconut oil. There are also some fatty chlorides in coconut oil and more. The vitamins and minerals that are in coconut oil are a decent amount as well. These include some vitamin e, some iron, some vitamin k and a lot of others. Each of these ingredients contributes a lot to our bodies, our health, our skin and our hair.
With there being so much that coconut oil can do it is kind of hard to find out what coconut oil does not do. Educate yourself and learn all that it can do and how to use it but know that whatever coconut oil you decide to use will end up being the best coconut oil for skin because all coconut oils result in the same benefits.
